About Apik Systems.
A small, interdisciplinary research lab building the autonomous intelligence infrastructure for a post-scarcity civilization. We work across AI safety, agent infrastructure, robotics, computation, and the science of coordination.
What we are doing
Apik Systems builds the autonomous intelligence infrastructure that solves the planetary coordination problem. The world does not lack resources — it lacks coordination. Frontier models, agent infrastructure, and embodiment finally make planetary-scale coordination a tractable engineering problem.
We organize that work into the Apik Civilization Stack: five layers from individual cognition (Senwitt) through artificial intelligence (Brello AI), autonomous agents, physical intelligence, and economic orchestration. Behind each layer is a research pillar with public open problems and a published research agenda.
We treat safety as a precondition, not an afterthought. Our principles and our Responsible Development Policy commit us to capability thresholds, evaluation suites, and transparent disclosure before we ship.
How we work
Long-horizon. Some of the things we work on are 30-year programs. We build the lab and the funding model around that horizon, not around quarterly cycles.
Open by default. We publish our research, our policies, and our open problems. We gate disclosure only when capability + uplift risk become concrete — and we say so when we do.
Interdisciplinary. Coordination is a problem at the intersection of AI, mechanism design, robotics, and computation. We hire and collaborate across all of those.
Honest. We will tell you what we don't yet know. We will update our positions when the evidence does. We try to take ourselves and our work seriously without overclaiming.
Leadership
Shailesh Tamgadge
Shailesh leads Apik Systems as CEO, with responsibility for the lab's research agenda, partnerships, and operational direction. He sets strategy across the eight research pillars and three internal projects, and represents Apik publicly on AI safety, abundance economics, and the institutional architecture required to deploy autonomous systems responsibly.
Rehan Temkar
Rehan co-founded Apik Systems and serves as CTO. He leads research and engineering across the eight pillars and three internal projects — owning the technical roadmap, the experimental rigs, the evaluation infrastructure, and the deployment systems the lab's work depends on. He is also the principal author of the company's manifesto, safety principles, and Responsible Development Policy, and the lab's primary spokesperson on AI safety and abundance economics.
